When developing on a local machine, you’ll sometimes need to gain access to files that OSX Mavericks hides by default. To show hidden files, open up Terminal.app and type:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -boolean true ; killall Finder

The command should run without error and restart finder. You will now see hidden files and folders. To reverse the changes, open Terminal.app again and type:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -boolean false ; killall Finder
